Jesus is our “I AM” John 14:6

Today I am honored and blessed to share with you the words from a man who has been a part of my life for almost 29 years. He is a great man of faith and the dad of my sweet husband, Ben. He loves Jesus and tries to live his life to bring honor and glory to Him. I asked him to share his thoughts on his favorite verse in the Bible. Continue reading to find out what he had to say.

Each day in my life I am faced with things I must make an honest decision about. So where do I go to get an HONEST ANSWER?

First of all, the things I face in life are not always the same. Each day I must seek guidance for an honest and true answer. Some days I think all of us might agree that there are huge or small problems in our lives. The question arises again, where do I get the honest and correct answer to my problems?

I found out many years ago that I didn’t face life alone. If I looked in the right place, I could find answers and directions in GOD’S HOLY WORD which is the HOLY BIBLE. Thankfully, I have always been blessed to have one in my home. In the pages of this book are many examples of true stories over a period of many years that others have faced. There are many blessings, miracles, and problems we could face in this earthly life. In His Word we see examples of healing of health problems, we even see an example of where a dead person was brought back to earthly life.

I guess what I am trying to say is that each and every day we might have a different favorite verse or Bible quote, depending what we are facing at that exact moment.

All of the BIBLE is my favorite, but if I have to say which is my favorite book—it would be the BOOK OF JOHN. One of the things I love about this book is that it gives a list of names that Jesus said about himself and describes who he is to the world. The other gospels tell of the many miracles which Jesus did while here on earth. Listed below are what is known as “THE SEVEN I AMS” of Jesus.

I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. (John 6:35)

I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. (John 8:12)

I AM THE GATE. (John 10:9)

I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD. (John 10:11)

I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. (John 11:25-26)

I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. (John 14:6)

I AM THE VINE. (John 15:5)

Which of these “I AMS” do you need in your life today? Take the time to read these Bible verses and see who Jesus is to you.

  1. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to open my heart in your pages.
    Love you LOADS

  2. Today I need Jesus, the TRUTH. With so many different stories about what coronavirus is and how it should be handled, I am finding it very difficult to make simple daily decisions, much less big ones. Should I go to the grocery or have groceries delivered? Should I send my kids to school in person or keep them home? Is it safe to give anyone a hug?

So I read John 14 and am reminded that while I am letting these troubles fill my pretty little head, Jesus is preparing a place for me in heaven. Now my focus is on the future, not the troubles of today. Just a few minutes in God’s word and I am ready to face the day!

Thank you Julie for sharing some of Ben’s dad. Your beautiful family extends so far and wide! Love You girlie!
