We are first-time-raised-bed-gardeners this spring. We are just beginning to see some of the fruits of our labors and we are so giddy with excitement!
Everyday we walk outside and open the newly built gate and check on our babies. We pull a few weeds, dehead the marigolds, and check on new growth. Sometimes we even have to relocate some annoying pests.
We recently purchased a new water hose with a spraying nozzle that has a variety of settings. It will spray water almost any kind of way you might desire and a few you might be clueless why you might need it like I am. Last night we were transplanting Knockout and Drift roses to their new home and I decided to use the “misting” choice and let the water soak the roots on each plant for a while.
That process hit me this morning–we all need to spend time just “sitting and soaking”.
Sitting with Jesus and soaking up His Word and bringing the beauty of its truth into our lives daily.
It is the best way to get through life’s problems, to get questions answered, and to seek the hope for our future.
Today, I want you to find a comfortable spot, hunker down, and open the living Word of God and let it feed your mind and heart with it’s truths, love and hope.
I bet you will grow from the experience and I know it will help you to flourish in whatever situation you find yourself today.
When you are finished sitting and soaking, go to the next level and turn on some praise music and spend a little bit of time praising God. (May I suggest going old school back to 2000 with Mary Mary and Praise Him! It’s almost impossible to sit still with this song–I usually have to get up and dance and sing!)
Here are a few of my favorite places to “sit and soak” in God’s Word:
Don’t get so busy with life that you forget to “Sit and Soak” in the Word that will literally change your life!
In Him,
Just what I needed to read today, Julie. Thank you for the encouragement! Blessings,
