Fun Announcement

Today I have a fun announcement to make . . .

But first things first, have I told you lately that my grand babies sure are cute?

We celebrated Easter with our family early because some of them will be traveling to visit with their spouse’s family this coming weekend. We cooked out, had a “littles” egg hunt and the “biggies” egg hunt.

Okay, thank you for letting me indulge a little family fun photos. One thing I have learned is that every day truly is a gift and getting to make memories as a family is a gift. We should do it as often as possible because you never know what tomorrow brings. Celebrate Every Moment!

Now for the fun announcement. I am opening my home to 3 individual ladies or a Mom plus 13 year up combo. to learn the basics of quilting a log cabin quilt this summer. I have been quilting since around 2000, so about 19 years. I am far from a pro, but I LOVE making quilt tops. I do not hand quilt my own quilts. I love to choose the fabrics, patterns and make the quilt top. After having tried hand quilting, I discovered I did not enjoy that part at all, so I send mine off to be quilted.

This is what I’m offering. A 4 – 6 week class on Thursday mornings from 9 – 12. The class will be totally FREE! You will need to bring your own sewing machine, and quilt supplies (material, thread, scissors, etc.) By the end of that time, you should have completed a quilt top. I can show you how to machine quilt your quilt if you’d like to machine quilt. I may even be able to find someone who hand quilts to demo how to hand quilt. I know I can give you names of machine quilters who will finish the job for you.

Here are the summer dates:

June 6th: Information class to get started 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

June 13th: First actual quilting class 9:00 am to 12:00 (longer if you bring your lunch)

June 20th: Quilting Class 9:00 am to 12:00 (longer if you bring your lunch)

We will have a two week break. I have scans at Mayo already scheduled for the 27th and the 4th of July will definitely be spent with family.

July 11th: Quilting Class 9:00 am to 12:00 (longer if you bring your lunch)

July 18th and 25th are available if we still need time.

There will be outside class work and know that fabric and supplies are not inexpensive. But you will be making a beautiful treasure to enjoy for years to come and you can pass it down to your children.

This will be on a first come basis. But please do not ask to participate if you can’t make most of those dates. I am so excited about this class! You can message me here or on Facebook and I will get back with you.

Ok–it’s official! Class is now open for next 3 ladies. I already have 1 lady who is in the class.

This is the book I will be teaching from, but it is not necessary for you to participate.
