IT IS TIME TO SHOUT!

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption

Remember this verse that I posted on 8/22/2011?  “Do not shout; do not even talk,” Joshua commanded. “Not a single word from any of you until I tell you to shout (emphasis mine). Then shout!” (Jos 6:10 NLT) It is time to SHOUT!!!!!!! God is so faithful!   When this all began in 2010 we didn’t have… Read More

Gotcha Days!

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption

Okay, I think we (mostly Julie) have teased you long enough about the extra special announcement…… Our agency requested the Consulate Appointment confirmation yesterday afternoon for 11/1 or 11/2 and said it normally took 2 to 5 business days to get a confirmation, so we were resisting the urge to hope for it on Monday… Read More

Are the mountains starting to move?

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption

God may have started moving our biggest mountain yesterday morning. A dear friend of mine, Dan Dubell, President of International Care, Inc. (I CARE) called me yesterday morning and offered to set up an adoption fund at I CARE where people can make tax-deductable donations to assist with Hannah and Sara’s adoptions. Dan specifically asked… Read More

Not a Single Word!

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption, Prayer

Through this journey one of the things that I have learned is that we can convince ourselves that we hear what we want God to tell us – and it is really easy to do. We are expecting our TA (Travel Authorization) literally any day now and once we get TA things have to happen… Read More

Why Is It So Hard to Trust God?

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption, Prayer

The gospel is such a simple thing that we cannot really grasp it without the intervention of the Holy Spirit. The simplicity of the gospel is that we have to trust God and trust that He has a provided a way through Jesus Christ for us to spend an eternity with Him in heaven. We… Read More

Another Step Complete!

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption

Woo hoo! We received our letter from the U.S. National Visa Center (NVC) today confirming that they have wired our file to the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China. With this piece of the puzzle, we now send off our last packet (is going out today!) to our adoption agency and they overnight it to China.… Read More

You Can’t Walk on Water Unless YOu Get Out of the Boat

by Ben Agee, in category Other

I have been thinking back through some of the historical accounts in the Bible of where God has shown out big. God rarely does the exact same thing twice, but I believe there is one consistent thing that you will find if you look closely — you always have to DO SOMETHING and it usually… Read More

Aren’t you afraid of being hurt again?

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption

We have been told by some of our close friends and family that they are fearful of us being hurt again. As I mentioned in the background, we went through two very difficult adoption attempts (one from Kazakhstan and one through foster care) that left us wounded emotionally. We were asked “aren’t you afraid you… Read More

Where it all begin

by Ben Agee, in category Adoption

In May, 2010 our family took a wonderful cruise to the Bahamas. We immediately came back wanting to schedule our next cruise, but God kept telling us that our next family trip would be something that was focused on him and not just a relaxing vacation. In August our church started planning a mission trip… Read More
