Keeping it Real

by Ben Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Christian Living, Dealing with Grief, Faith

When Julie decided to start blogging about her battle with Ovarian Cancer, one of her guiding principles was that she would keep it real. Life is not always a bed of roses and although it was her heart’s desire for her writing to be an encouragement and inspiration to others, she also recognized that being… Read More

Not Quite A Week Ago . . .

by Julie Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Christian Living, Faith, Living with Ovarian Cancer

Last week we began another pathway on this Cancer Journey. This road will probably lead us on a few detours, maybe a side road or two, but ultimately I will have a final destination in Heaven. At the same time, I’m still praying for healing. I know He can, I know He will, if it… Read More

Mayo Scans Results 9/29/21

by Julie Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Faith, Living with Ovarian Cancer, Prayer

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that yesterday marked the 4th year anniversary of the big debulking surgery. We’ve had 4 mostly beautiful years to share, live and grow. It’s a miracle that we’ve had these years at all, but God’s mercy and grace have surely followed us through the ups and downs. Yesterday was… Read More

Plans and a Purpose

by Julie Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Faith, Family, Living with Ovarian Cancer

My scripture for today comes from Proverbs 19:21. It says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” What a timely message to remind us that God’s purpose will always prevail. The definition for prevail is “to prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious.” Yes! Yesterday… Read More

Mayo Scan Day Results 3/26/19

by Julie Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Living with Ovarian Cancer

We just left the doctor’s office at Mayo. Do you see those smiles? That’s because my CA 125 marker was normal and my nodule was declared stable and no new growth. Y’all—after the last 72 hours we needed some jump up and down good news! Praise the Lord for His new mercies every day!

Test Results 9/28/18

by Julie Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Faith, Living with Ovarian Cancer

We just left Mayo and stopped for a bite to eat at Chipotle.  So while I devour a chicken bowl, I’ll pass on the news we were given today.  First things first, my CA 125 marker number was a 9.  That is an awesome number.  So yes, we are celebrating that.  The only other piece… Read More

When the “Re” gets kicked out of Remission

by Julie Agee, in category Battle Against Cancer, Faith, Living with Ovarian Cancer

Yesterday we met with our doctors at Mayo.  My Gynecological Oncologist decided to re-run the biopsy samples from my surgery because it was so unusual to have positive wash and a negative biopsy.  The revised results were that 2 of the 8 biopsies did in fact test positive for microscopic cancer cells.  At this stage… Read More
