Fun, Exciting News–A Little Happy for a Monday!

My husband bought me flowers, dark chocolate, and an organic grassfed, lean steak (I’ve given up red meat, and pork on a day-to-day basis). This event is definitely worth celebrating with a little splurge–I think I ate 4 oz. total of the delish New York Strip steak.

Nope–It’s not our Anniversary, Birthday or any such fun life event that you can even imagine.

This celebration actually involves an ending of sorts.

I’ve been working on a project that has taken me 1 year and 4 months to complete only the 1st part.

On Friday, the 24th at 2:22 PM I completed the 1st rough draft of a non-fiction book that will hopefully be ready for publishing sometime this year.

I might have cried some happy tears of shear joy! I know I did some dancing around, and I may have wore a silly-ear-to ear smile for a while.

Yes, the 1st draft is down–and now the really hard work begins. I received the Preface and the First Chapter back from editing. So on Saturday I began the 1st revision of the rough draft. I sure hope that it doesn’t take me another year and 4 months to complete this step. Ha!

I honestly never thought I would be a writer; certainly never entertained the thought of writing a book. When I was stuck at home for almost 1 year and a half due to healing from the colostomy reversal, and I had one publisher inquire about publishing 1 single devotional—I thought the next step was to write a book???

Who does that?

One day I will share all of the funny things I did wrong on this writing journey, but I’ll postpone that for later because I’m sure that I am still making journalistic faux pas.

Today let’s just simmer in the joy of knowing that one milestone has been reached and more are in the works! Let’s celebrate that for the day!
