M2M-Chapter 2

Challenge for Chapter 2 from Trusting God When Life Gives You Crap was a sweet experience with God’s beautiful nature. I took my walk on Monday morning when there was a slight chill in the air and the sun’s rays were shining through the trees.

The challenge encouraged us to look for God’s creativity, His power and His emphasis on the details while taking a walk in nature. I chose to walk right outside my home in my neighborhood. I’m sure some of you will post a picture from somewhere exciting, but I decided to stay close to home.

I desired to “show” you in pictures some of the things I experienced because I felt the pictures described His creation perfectly.

Here’s what I discovered along my walk:

The sun was already up–just like it is every day. That in itself is a wonder of creation!
The road before me–look at all the shades of green. What an artist our God is!
God is all around us in the light and in the dark,
The ray of light shining through.
The beauty of His creation is displayed everyday–how come I don’t always “see” it? Hmmm …
This new anthill–our world is ever changing! With the 6 inches of rain over the weekend, these ants had to start over—we can learn a thing or 2 from their industrious behavior. Just keep at it!
I only noticed the old logs and the big pines on the walk. But when I was looking at this picture, I noticed the new pines in the front. The circle of life–always displayed in nature.
In this picture and the next I was reminded of how God always provides. He provides for today and for tomorrow.
Look at the reflection of the trees in the water. I like to wonder what people see when they glance at our lives. What are we reflecting?
Every spring we see new growth–right before Easter. I love the fact that nature declares His ability to gives us a new life because of His death on the cross. We see this declaration every spring–it never fails!
The sweet aroma of honeysuckle reminded me of 2 Corinthians 2:15 (NLT) which says, “Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing.
Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11 (ESV)
Oh the beauty of His creation–over and over you proclaim it with nature!
Look at the rows of planted corn in the baby stages of getting ready to be harvested later this year. Our God has given us the ability to work hard and provide the food we need for our bodies to be healthy. He is definitely in the details of our lives!
Shade and sun–we need them both!
I love this sign in our neighborhood! We should be about this everyday!
This is on the other side–we meet and discuss the Bible and about how God is working. A precious time of fellowship and discovery.
Come join us!
This just might be my favorite picture from my walk–the sun shining through! Just a perfect reminder that God is everywhere and His love is always present and available!
Look at the lines of the leaves and the promise of the buds. Both are pointing to the hope we have in the mercy of our God. He gives us new mercies every single day. When we mess up–we get a re-do with Him.
Sweet Jasmine–this is actually in my yard as I returned from my walk. The Lord is so sweet to me!
This walk reminded me to be thankful for where I’ve been planted in this season of my life. I love our home and neighborhood!
Look at our growing blueberries–I suppose we will help feed some of His creatures also. Hopefully, we will get some too!
Oh the joy every new bud brings to our life! He is the giver and taker of our life–in Him I trust!

I didn’t realize how refreshing this walk would be! I was gently reminded that I needed to be thankful for where the Lord has me at this time in my life. Sometimes I get restless because I can’t figure out exactly what I’m supposed to be doing and I have to remember that He has the perfect plan and He will reveal it in His time.

I loved that I walked with intention today–with the sole purpose of “seeing” God’s creativity, His power and His emphasis in the details. My God did not disappoint! He declared these things the entire walk!

I received a blessing from this challenge–what about you?

What did God show you?

  1. You have inspired me again. One thing that jumped out on one of your pictures. I think your caption was God is in the light and the dark (maybe my interpretation) but what came to mind is the shadows. He is in the shadows … somewhere between light and dark … maybe in the waiting … things aren’t clear yet but not dark either. I am going to take some pics on my walk. They don’t usually turn out very good but I’m going to try.
