Beaching It This Week

I’m beachin’ it this week in Daytona.

It’s something I’ve done for the past 14 years with these ladies—my WooHoo’s!

I plan to have some restful, relaxin’ days with my toes in the sand on the edge of the water. I’ll be talking and laughing with these crazy ladies who are all so unique and precious to me!

Maybe you are awaiting an upcoming getaway to your favorite place where you plan to sit back and take in the beauty before you or maybe you plan to stay busy from morning to evening and rest when you get home. I don’t know which camp you fall into, but I hope these verses and pictures of one of my favorite places on earth bring you a little bit of peace and relaxation at home.

It is the LORD who provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves. His name is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies . . . Jeremiah 31:35 (NLT)

“Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’? Job 38:8-11 (NIV)

He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Psalm 107:29-31 (NIV)

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God.  He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. Psalm 146:5-6 (NLT)

I love trips to the beach because I never get tired of the sound of the ocean waves as they roll onto shore, or the feel of the squishy sand as I walk in the edge of the water, or the smell of the beach mixed with sunscreen. All of these bring joy and peace to my soul and I feel like I have a renewed lease on life after a beach getaway.

Where do you find rest and relaxation? Do you have a favorite getaway destination? Share the details and let me enjoy your “little bit of heaven on earth” with you!

  1. I love these pictures and the scriptures under them are so unique. Thanks for sharing these.

  2. In church, we called it Godly places. Areas where one can escape the issues of everyday life and appreciate what is there. For me it was the Okefenokee Swamp. Not just any part, but way out there after you leave the river and go into the canoe trail grasses. You can see forever and there is only wonderment .
